Rothwell Town 1 Burley U10 Girls 0

A rough sloping pitch at Rothwell inevitably led to a scrappy game. Burley enjoyed most of the early possession, but found it difficult to produce the high standard of football that beat Norristhorpe last week. Shots on goal were few and far between, but a couple of chances fell to Burley early on. Lara Hutchinson broke away down the left, but just shot wide. A minute later Lara was in a similar position on the left and picked out Bethan Smith unmarked in front of goal, but Bethan's shot also went wide.

Home against Nostell first round of cup

Pool 0 - Burley Trojans U11 Girls 3

Having had their opening game of the season cancelled, the girls were fired up for the first game of a new season., though there was some nerves with a lot of the girls being under age for this group.

A small squad meant that a tough game would be endured by all, as pool kicked off it soon became apparent that there was more of a physical edge to this league than the girls expected, with some dubious challenges being let go by the referee.
